Thrift Store find #3

Bitchin’ Japanese Mario watch. I hesitated to buy this at first because of the condition, as you can see in the first picture. There are faded japanese characters on the bottom part of the wristband.

The inside of the watch is pristine though, in spite of the fact that it doesnt work.

As cool as this was, I think my initial instincts were appropriate. The bottom band literally snapped off not even 30 seconds after I finished the pictures (edit: You can even see it in the second picture). Thats 50 cents and a shred of my dignity that Ill never be able to replace =*(

Thrift store finds #2

I came across two wonderfully Asian bootlegged disney tapes from god knows when. What we have here is Aladdin and the direct to video sequel, Aladdin and the Return of Jafar. Each generic video sleeve has a blank space allowed for a glossy photograph-like print of the original cover art to be glued onto.

The second picture shows the vhs labels, which has one of my favorite features on this odd find: the Jafar head print on the second tape. Id really like to see other bootlegs in this vein to find out if they made any other unique label designs.

The artistic flexibility in the general pattern of these tapes ends there though, as you can see by the third picture. The back of every bootleg Thai/Vietnamese(?) Disney flick has a logo featuring your favorite non-Disney pals, Tom and Jerry!
